Sneak Peek Resources
Sneak peeks build school-wide excitement about your upcoming book fair, allowing teachers and students to explore this season’s titles and create wishlists of their favorites. Here are some helpful recommendations for hosting each group.

Teacher Sneak Peeks
Sneak peeks help teachers discover the best new books to add to their classroom libraries. Active teacher involvement in your fair and wishlist program builds excitement across the school community, letting parents show their appreciation by purchasing teacher-requested titles. Here are some ways to encourage staff participation:
- Set up a raffle: only those who attend the sneak peek are entered to win a basket of books! (Tip: fill this basket with books selected as part of your Book Profit reward.)
- Tell staff about their 20% teacher discount. (This does not include Literati Book Club memberships, Book Profit selections, or the purchase of gift cards. BOGO fairs aren’t eligible for additional discounts.)
- If you have a projector or screen available, play the book fair sneak peek video so they’re familiar with this season’s featured titles.
- Explain how your school’s teacher wishlist program works. Find best practices in the article on Teacher Wishlist Programs.
- Let teachers peruse the shelves to find titles to add to their digital wishlists—the perfect way to build classroom libraries while leaving books on the fair’s shelves for kids. Our new Teacher Wishlist poster includes instructions for getting started.
- Tell teachers about Book Clubs for Classrooms! Each new member sign-up and activation during your online fair period earns your school $100 in book fair sales.

Student Sneak Peeks
These previews allow students to get familiar with your book fair’s layout and create wishlists of their own. Here’s how you can help them get the most out of their sneak peek visits:
- Print this season’s student wishlists found in the resources section below and on the back of the featured book flyer in your Marketing Must-Haves Kit. Distribute them at the sneak peeks. Invite students to use these and share them with their family and friends. Give a quick explanation of the book fair layout so they can easily find books at their reading level. You can use the numbers found on the side of your perimeter cases to help guide them.
- Have students write the titles and prices of their favorite books on their wishlists. To help kids understand how much a given book will cost after taxes, you can download a customizable tax sheet from our Printable Materials page.
- Play the book fair sneak peek video to build student excitement about the upcoming fair. There are three separate videos, each grouped by grade level.
- Attach a parent letter to each wishlist for students to bring home. Our sample letters explain how best to support your school through the book fair (and can be found in the resources section below).
- Remind students of their scheduled shopping time and other planned events, so they know when they can return and purchase their books.
- This is a great time to distribute the Literati bookmarks you received along with your fair. These include a reminder about online-only items available at the Literati Store.
